NOVA Mentor 7 light

The Nova Mentor 7 Light is a high-end EN B paraglider designed specifically for cross-country (XC) and hike-and-fly adventures.

It is notable for introducing a hybrid 2.5-liner design to the intermediate class, which combines the performance characteristics of a two-liner with the comfort and safety of a three-liner.

Key Features & Technology

Hybrid 2.5-Liner Design: The wing functions as a two-liner at the outer tips and a three-liner in the center. This design reduces drag and significantly improves performance during accelerated flight.

HAC-Handles: Equipped with Height Adjustable C-Handles on the risers, allowing for efficient “pitch control” while on the speed bar, a feature typically found on high-performance two-liners.

 

Speedbrake Riser 2.0: A revised riser system that simplifies handling despite the more complex line configuration.

Construction: Features 66 cells and an aspect ratio of 5.5. It uses lightweight materials like Skytex 27 for the main surfaces and Skytex 38 in high-wear areas to ensure durability while maintaining a low weight.

Flying Characteristics
Reviewers from Cross Country Magazine and Dust of the Universe highlight:

Extreme Stability: The wing is remarkably pitch-stable and comfortable, even in turbulent Alpine conditions.

Usable Performance: It offers a massive glide advantage on full speed bar, outperforming many other high-B and even some C-class wings in real-world glides.

B3-Stall: Uses a “Baby-B” line for descent instead of traditional big ears, which is more effective but requires a quick, symmetric pull.

Packing: Due to internal trailing-edge rods, Nova recommends concertina packing with a Pack Roll to protect the wing’s shape.
